Two Point Hospital
Two point hospital has been an interesting game. It has been a fun management sim and has been very approachable. The general loop is decent and there's LOTS of content, not even including the DLC. Where it falters is in the disposable nature of each hospital, and in the general lack of variety in the gameplay loop. You more or less do the same thing across about 35 different hospitals.
The general loop of this game is you get a new hospital with three "stars" to achieve, which are each usually three objectives to complete before moving on to the next star. When you achieve enough stars you unlock more hospitals. Each hospital (at least in the early/mid game) introduces some new mechanic, so each subsequent hospital is a bit more complex than the last.....in theory.

In practice, the general loop stays mostly the same. Patients come in, diagnose, treat, and exit. In the meantime you need to keep them happy with basic amenities around the hospital and try to keep make their stay in the hospital as quick and comfortable as possible. It sounds pretty good, but what ends up happening is each hospital becomes more or less the same hamster wheel with a slight wrinkle thrown in.
You discover new diseases that require new treatment rooms, but that doesn't really change anything other than the amount of space and staff you need for all the different treatment rooms. I think the biggest bummer for me was that the game presents you as the manager of a hospital conglomerate, but once you're done with a hospital you move on to the next and the hospital you leave behind no longer matters.

It seems like at some point there may have been a notion that this game would have an "overworld" layer where you needed to manage the hospitals you had previously built and could benefit from them as well, but that never happens. Once you're done with a hospital you just move on to the next one and (almost) nothing carries over from one into the next. Also, due to the nature of how each hospital progresses, you're moving rooms around a lot. That, combined with the disposable nature of each hospital really discourages really trying to make your hospital look nice and pretty.
We're still working on the final hospital of the base game and it is very large with a pretty generous layout. Maybe the idea is that this hospital is your "forever" hospital that you can really make the way you want. Overall the game was fun to work on over the course of a couple months and it has made me curious about the other games in the "Two Point" series. I do feel like I need a break from the genre for now though.
